The British (IGCSE Department) is structured into key stages, aligning with the National Curriculum of England:

Key Stage 4 (KS4)

Years 10–11 (Ages 14–16) → IGCSE/GCSE

Sixth Form (KS5)

Years 11–12 (Ages 16–18) → A-Levels/International A-Levels

Students graduating from the British Department at OHS are well-prepared to join top universities in Egypt and abroad. Our programs follow international standards, ensuring recognition and acceptance worldwide.

Egyptian Universities

(Supreme Council of Universities Requirements)

O Level (OL)

Minimum of 8 subjects

AS / A Level

Minimum of 2 A Levels (or 1 A Level + 2 AS subjects)

Arabic & History

Compulsory for Egyptian students ( through Ministry exams)

Thanaweya Equivalency Certificate

Issued through the Ministry of Education

International Universities

Admission criteria vary depending on the university and country.

O Level (OL)

5-8 subjects

AS / A Level

At least 3 full A Level subjects (some top universities may require specific subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, or Economics depending on the field of study)

English Proficiency

IELTS / TOEFL may be required
