Academic Standards

In OHS American Division, we believe that education is a lifelong learning process, therefore our mission is to provide learners with an educational experience that nurtures their passions, problem-solving abilities, and high-order thinking skills and fosters their curiosity to inquire.

The school uses the Common Core Standards (CCSS) ; a set of high-quality academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy (ELA). The standards are based on rigorous content and application of knowledge through higher-order thinking skills.

The standards define the knowledge and skills students should gain throughout their K-12 education in order to graduate high school prepared to succeed in college, career, and life.

Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS); are K–12 science content standards that set the expectations for what students should know and be able to do.

AERO Curriculum Framework is adopted in Social Studies; questions play a key role in curriculum design which aid students in the exploration of the disciplines in relation to the standards and instills in the children a sincere sense of social justice by understanding the world they live in.

Types of Assessments

“At our school, we aim to cover different types of assessments to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each student’s progress and needs. Our approach includes formative assessments to support day-to-day learning, summative assessments to evaluate mastery, diagnostic assessments to identify strengths and areas for growth, and performance-based tasks to encourage real-world application of knowledge. This variety allows us to nurture not only academic achievement but also critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.”

✨ In addition to these assessment types, our school also administers benchmark assessments such as MAP and SAT. These provide standardized data that allow us to measure student performance against local and international benchmarks, helping us ensure that our learners are progressing in line with global standards.

We Are Now an Official SAT Test Center (Add logo of collegeboard)

OHS has been officially accredited as a SAT Test Center. This recognition allows our students, as well as students from across Egypt, to take the SAT exams directly at our campus in a familiar and supportive environment.

By becoming a test center, we continue our commitment to providing world-class educational opportunities and ensuring our learners are well-prepared for international pathways to higher education.

At OHS, we are committed to maintaining the highest international standards in education.

Our school is officially accredited by Cognia, the leading global accrediting body for educational institutions, ensuring continuous improvement, academic excellence, and international recognition.

Every six year, our school goes through a process of re-accreditation and evaluation. We are proud that in our last visit we achieved an exemplary score IEQ of 329 Points. (Add certificate of reaccreditation scanned)
